About us Shanna Connemara Pony Stud is situated in South Connemara. We are a small family owned stud that believe in quality not quantity. My Father Jimmy always had ponies on the farm but in 2000 we decided to start showing our ponies and since 2011 we have got involved in performance. We are known for breeding, producing and owning ponies that were champions at all major shows in Ireland.

The stud aims to breed quality correct Connemara ponies that are capable of competing in their chosen discipline be it in-hand showing, showjumping, eventing, dressage, working hunter or leisure. We have two resident stallions, Shanna Larry and Too Much Melody. Shanna Larry was born on our stud after we imported his dam Skousboe Shamrock from the Sternberg Stud in Germany. She was in foal to their elite stallion El Larry at the time and as a result of this we now have our Champion stallion Shanna Larry. He won Clifden as a yearling and is now a champion working hunter and ridden stallion. Too Much Melody was bought in France from the Melody stud as a yearling and he will start his showjumping career in 2012.
